Josef Albers was an artist, teacher and color theorist. He is most famous for his Homage to the Square (1950-1976) series.

Here is a terrific video introducing some of color strategies Albers explored with this series. Many of these strategies are the same as the ones we are studying this week.

If you want to learn more about Josef Albers and his equally creative wife Anni please visit the Albers Foundation website. And if you find yourself in Connecticut do consider arranging an appointment to see wonderful collection of Albers’ paintings, drawings and prints they have there.
